Genetic counseling may be beneficial for you if a clinical diagnosis has been made and genetic confirmation is desired, or if there appears to be a genetic predisposition in the family or it has already been identified. Naturally, we provide comprehensive counseling before and after genetic testing.

Is blood drawn during genetic counseling?
Yes, we take blood samples to make a diagnosis.
How long does the examination take?
The examination takes about one hour.
Is genetic counseling and diagnostics covered by insurance?
You are entitled to genetic counseling. It is a regular service of statutory health insurance and private insurance, which you can use without co-payment.
What are the special considerations for patients with fertility desires?
Please come to your appointment together with your partner and bring a semen analysis.
Do both partners need to come to the practice for fertility counseling?
Yes, if you would like to receive fertility counseling, please come with your partner to the practice.
Do parents also need to be present when the child has an appointment?
Yes, to conduct a comprehensive consultation, please also come to your child’s appointment. In addition, we require all insurance cards of the persons present.
What documents are required?
Please bring your insurance card, referral slip, previous findings, and the documents we send you for completion in advance.
How can I submit my documents?
Please bring documents requested in advance to the appointment. You do not need to send them in advance.
